At The Sale

At The Sale Globalizing Thoroughbred Auctions At The Sale’s mission statement is twofold. There’s no question that we exist in a global economy.

Primarily our goal is to bring buyers and sellers together worldwide thereby expanding and enhancing the Thoroughbred marketplace. Until now, it has been virtually impossible to acquire a horse without being physically present on the sale grounds or without having someone present on your behalf. At The Sale creates a platform whereby sellers can provide photos, videos, vet reports, and comments ab

out each horse. Additionally, At The Sale has over a quarter million data records in its database containing historical sale results dating back over 10 years. Buyers can access this information and have available to them orders of magnitude more information, right at their fingertips, from anywhere in the world. At The Sale’s further goal is to allow buyers who are physically present on the sale grounds efficient and effective use of their valuable time in inspecting horses and maintaining their lists by use of our advanced shortlisting tools and features. Bringing it all together, At The Sale offers bloodstock advisory and consultancy services thereby closing the loop between the sellers and the buyers, dovetailing both sides of the marketplace.

TOBYS HEART (f, 2, Jack Milton–Pick of the Pack, by Lil’s Lad) justified the ‘TDN Rising Star’ moniker she earned in her debut with a victory in Saratoga’s Bolton Landing S., becoming the first black-type winner for her second-crop sire (by War Front). Overcoming a trouble trip to graduate...

The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale showed perhaps a healthy correction to 2018 levels when the final results were tallied. That said, it needs to be remembered that Gulfstream Sale horses were consigned in this sale. With that in mind it would be fair to classify the results as weaker than they appear. The average sale price declined 14% from $90,104 in 2019 to $77,797. The median fell a less drastic 7% from $43,000 in 2019 to $40,000.

Metrics were in line when compared with 2019. Sell-throughs dipped from 55% in 2019 to 54% and RNA’s also declined from 17% in 2019 to 13%. Outs increased from 29% to 33%.

The sale topper was a fast Uncle Mo c**t out of a stakes-producing Mineshaft mare. He worked a nice bullet in 10 flat during the under tack show and received an At The Sale Breeze Figure of a rock-solid 1.0. He was consigned by Pike Racing and purchased by Donato Lanni Agent for Michael Lund Petersen for $1,100,000.

The OBS Spring Sale showed a healthy rebound from the carnage of the OBS March Sale. Buyers were in attendance and consignors were eager to move inventory. Both factors combined for a healthy marketplace. The average sale price understandably declined 14% from $107,708 in 2019 to $92,527. The median fell an even larger 17% from $60,000 in 2019 to $50,000. However, 641 head changed hands during the 4-day event.

Metrics were strong when compared with 2019. Sell-throughs rose from 31% in 2019 to 41% while RNA’s shrank from 13% in 2019 to 10%. Outs decreased from 56% to 49%.

The sale topper was a lightning-fast Not This Time filly out of a G3-winning Wilko mare. She ripped through a quarter mile in 20.1 during the under tack show and received an At The Sale Breeze Figure of an eye-popping -7.0. She was consigned by Top Line Sales and purchased by Gary Young for $1,350,000.
