On Memorial Day, we pause as a nation to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States of America.

Today is about remembrance. It is about the sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors who put on the uniform and never returned home.

Their sacrifice is woven into the life of this country. Every freedom we exercise, every right we cherish, every peaceful day we are blessed to live carries the weight of those who stood in harm’s way and paid the ultimate price.

We also hold close the families who live every day with an empty chair, a folded flag, a name etched in stone, and memories that time can never erase. Their loss is part of the cost this nation must never forget.

Today, we remember our fallen heroes with humility, gratitude, and reverence. May their courage never be reduced to a passing thought, and may their legacy remind us to live with purpose, unity, and respect for the country they gave everything to defend.

We remember them. We honor them. We will never forget them.

Yet too often, forms get stuck, calls go unanswered, and months pass before families see any support.
We had the opportunity to help a public retirement system change this.

We rebuilt their survivor benefits process using Pega, automating key steps such as employer notifications, document checks, payment processing, and communication with beneficiaries.

All of this was brought together into a more structured flow. And the results showed up where it mattered.

Processes that took years now move in days.

Families no longer spend their time chasing documents while they are grieving.
