HIRING! Outside Sales Representative – Architectural & Custom Signage
Role Summary:
We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Outside B2B Sales Representative to expand our client footprint across commercial construction, healthcare, education, retail, and corporate real estate sectors. In this consultative sales role, you will be responsible for identifying upcoming construction and renovation projects, engaging key decision-makers (General Contractors, Project Managers, Architects, and Property Owners), reading project plans and sign schedules, and guiding high-value custom signage projects from initial spec through fabrication handoff.

Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Business Development-
Identify and cultivate new B2B accounts across general contractors, commercial developers, architectural firms, interior design agencies, and facility management groups.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline using construction bidding databases (e.g., Dodge, ConstructConnect, BuildingConnected) and active networking.
Participate in regional industry associations (e.g., AGC, ISA, BOMA, AIA, SEGD) to stay connected with upcoming commercial projects.
Consultative Sales & Account Management-
Conduct on-site walk-throughs, site surveys, and discovery meetings to assess client signage requirements, structural mounting constraints, and municipal zoning/permit guidelines.
Review architectural blueprints, elevations, section details, and sign schedules to formulate comprehensive scope proposals.
Partner with internal Estimating and Pre-Press Design teams to craft competitive bids, value-engineering options, and visual presentation decks.
Present formal project proposals to key stakeholders, navigating competitive bid processes and contract negotiations to secure award decisions.
Relationship Retention & Project Handoff-
Maintain continuous contact with General Contractors and Owners’ Representatives throughout project lifecycles to capture scope additions and change orders.
Conduct smooth handoffs with internal Project Managers and Production teams to ensure accurate ex*****on of shop drawings, fabrication specs, and installation schedules.
Drive repeat project business and long-term subcontractor master agreements with major general contractors.
Qualifications:
3+ years of proven B2B outside sales experience in custom signage, commercial building products, architectural millwork, commercial print/graphics, or sub-contractor construction trades.
Proven track record of closing project deals ranging from $10,000 to $250,000+.
Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, site plans, section drawings, and specification manuals.
Solid understanding of architectural sign systems (monuments, pylons, channel letters, ADA/wayfinding packages, dimensional logos, digital displays).
Strong consultative selling capabilities—asking probing questions, overcoming objections, and building value over low-bid price competition.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace suite.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regional client visits and site assessments.
