Television repair in this day and age is no longer profitable since the prices on televisions have dropped rapidly……The replacement cost is cheaper than my labor and parts rate.

This is an LED lighting issue, so you can actually see the internal LED lights and you can see those marked in red or non-functioning lights. And these lights are similar to Christmas lights if one goes out they all go out. So in order to save this TV from the scrapyard we changed the complete light array. Because leaving the working lights in would cause us to revisit this tv again later because they’re still used and will eventually burn out later. So we replaced them all at once to avoid having to do it again later.

This is why when cleaning the screen you do not spray directly on the screen. There is no waterproof seal to prevent water or any kind of spray cleaner from getting behind the screen. Therefore fluid gets directly behind the screen and onto the light filters and then the smearing is what you see which will totally destroy the light filters therefore totally destroying the television. Spray your cloth, and wipe the screen. Yes you can use Windex.

See Inside the tv, ( behind the screen). This will help you understand why your tv had sound and no picture. These lights work similar to Christmas lights, ( if 1 or 5 goes out, they all go out).

LED light array replacement should only be done by a qualified professional. This is NOT something you should attempt at home.

YOU WILL DESTROY THE TV.

Leave it to the experienced professionals. This is only to help you understand this symptom.

LED lights are not one size fits all, they are very specific to your model/ serial number.

This is a Sony 85 inch LED TV. Believe it or not the TV is actually on. If you look very closely at one of the pictures you will see you faint blue screen.

This TV is manufactured in April 2019. It had a one year manufacturer warranty which is now expired. This customer paid over $5000 for this TV. And it is not fixable because the display panel (aka picture tube) is bad.

Sony does not provide replacement parts for their display panels. And the customer failed to get an extended warranty which would have replaced his tv.

Always always always, get the extended warranty. It may cost you a little extra initially but in the long run it will be worth it the very first time you use it and I promise, you will use it

This is what happens when the screen gets broken on an LED TV. It does not matter how major or how minor the break is, broke is broke internally or externally it is still broke. Here are pictures Of a 2019 LG smart TV that was damaged in shipping.
