Clients, friends...

Many of you have attempted to remit payment for your 2026 invoice by clicking an inactive link.

I have attempted to activate that payment link for PayPal. Not sure if it works or what fees will be charged. The best way is always check, Venmo, Zelle, my personal PayPal, etc. However, if you must do it through the link, let me know if it works

Folks... Look at this email... Looks pretty good. Ask yourself 2 questions.

1.) Does the IRS ever contact you by email? The answer is no.
2.) Who is "[email protected]"? Do you know that person? No?

Do not click the link. Do not entertain this at all. Delete and move on. EVERY TIME!!! EVERY DAY!!! ALL DAY!!!!

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Years for 2026. This past year has been interesting, to say the least. Our goals to hit the road were upended by a 2nd heart attack followed by triple bypass surgery. While recovering, we somehow managed to pack up and sell our home, opting to rent a Murrieta home down the street for a year.

Next up... we are planning to be on the road full-time by September, hopefully earlier. What does this mean for you and my IT services? First, I will always have access to help you through any and all your IT issues. I would much rather wake up each morning and field your calls from a Mesa overlooking the beautiful Arizona desert, or under a Montana sunrise... Second, I will obviously be unable to make on-site visits when necessary. Finally, accepting checks for payments will be mostly phased out. Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, etc. The future is here and I encourage everyone to jump in head first. Receiving a check triggers so many fees for a nomad, a road-tripper, a full-timer. Obviously there will be some exceptions made for businesses.

Finally, I encourage you all to follow our travels on FB. Know that I love what I do, I love that I can do it from anywhere, and I will do it for as long as I can, but not forever. When you fail to receive a renewal invoice for the following year, you will know then, that I am done or dead. While your business is important and has meant so much to me, your friendship means even more... So I hope you will continue to remain in touch, whether it's IT related or not.

With the impending end-of-life quickly approaching for Windows 10, don't be left behind. I am working overtime for all of you making sure that you are updated, upgraded, secured and safe.

If you need a new machine, the time is now, especially for laptops. Deals on desktops are rare at best.

Last chance for $99.00 desktops before I strip and salvage.

Currently seeing the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 on sale at Staples and Best Buy for $349.95. If you are in the market for a new printer, this will be the last one you ever buy. And no more print cartridges, ever.

Happy New Years friends and clients. 2025 is going to be a year of drastic change. This will be the year that my family and I finally get out of California. It’s been a long time coming as I near the end of my 5-year plan I started in 2020.

What does this mean for all my clients? Well, I am not exactly retiring. I am still available for on-site service calls while I remain in CA. Apart from that, I am implementing a “Remote-Only” annual “IT service and support” plan going forward. This way I can continue to provide top-notch service to all of you.

This plan includes all your “quick-support” (phone calls, questions, remotes 10 min or less, etc.), 1 “MAJOR” (2-hour) or 2 “MINOR” (1-hour) remote services, 2 checkups (spring and fall) and new remote software. You get all of this for $149.00/machine per year. Spots are limited as it will be limited to the first 300 machines.

NEW SCAM!!! If you get a call from (208) 688-0421 (Auburn, ID) or similar saying they are from Spectrum and that your 40% discount is being removed, do not call them back. As a matter of fact, never call back the number that calls you for any reason whatsoever.

Instead, if you're not sure, do what I (and millions of others do) and call the main Spectrum number and simply ask. Never EVER EVER call back the number that called you.

The recording even sounded like Spectrum. So it would be easy for many to be fooled into believing they were actually talking to Spectrum.

I just wanted to share a little IT with you all today. When things pop into my mind and I think an explanation will benefit others, I like to share. Today, I was asked about COOKIES and specifically 3rd-party COOKIES. For as long as I have been working on your computers, one of the first things I do is BLOCK 3rd-party cookies. Keep reading...

Cookies... What are they, why are they important? What is the difference between 1st party and 3rd party cookies... (Not sure why they skipped 2nd party)

Cookies are little files containing small bits of information that uniquely identify you to a website when you visit. For instance, when you go to "my.yahoo.com", Yahoo will place a small cookie on your computer. This way, what you see when you go to this website is different than what 3 billion others see when they also go to this website. Hence, when you clear cookies, you have to sign in again.

If you specify yahoo.com and Yahoo wants to place a cookie on your computer, that is considered a first-party cookie and totally acceptable, desired even. Makes life easy. Yahoo makes money by selling ad space to many different companies who then place ads and cookies on your computer. Say you go to yahoo.com and adclick.com wants to place a cookie, this would be considered a 3rd party-cookie and is absolutely unwanted. This is where so many infections and infiltrations come into your machines. This is why it is very important to make sure they are blocked.

While most 3rd-party cookies are bad and unwanted, once in a blue moon I come across an instance where the company and/or their Web design team fails to address this and your browser interprets a valid cookie as 3rd-party, for whatever reason, usually a cross-domain issue. In this case, you don't to simply allow 3rd-party cookies, but you want to go in and define an exception for this domain only.

Confused? I'm always available...
