Did you know?

On this day in 1942, Hollywood's most photographed actress got a patent for something nobody expected.

Hedy Lamarr was celebrated as one of the most beautiful actresses in cinema. Nobody knew she was also a great inventor. With composer George Antheil, she patented a frequency-hopping spread spectrum system, designed to keep enemy forces from jamming Allied torpedo guidance signals. The Navy shelved it. Decades later it became foundational to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, and in 2014 she was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame for it.

84 years later, communication is still evolving.

Today, we need far more than just push-to-talk. We need communication that can translate languages, share photos and video, document conversations, improve safety, and give leaders visibility beyond the radio itself.

We're proud to be a part of that evolution.

An ironworker spots a bad connection two levels up. He can't radio it down. Nobody gave him one.

Eleven minutes later, the next beam is already swinging into place above it. We unpacked what that gap actually costs in this piece for Construction Dive.

On megaprojects, radio silence isn't the standard. It's a choice with real costs.

What do you do when a Motorola upgrade quote comes back at way over budget?

For Shane, Maintenance Manager at Alphia's Burns, Kansas campus, the answer was Walt.

In our latest weavix Threads customer Q&A, Shane shares what communication looked like before Walt and the real-world difference it's made across one of the most remote manufacturing campuses in the country.

No IT handholding. No six-figure infrastructure overhaul. Just a smarter way to keep a team connected.

What does safety look like?

It's a worker understanding a critical instruction in their native language.
It's an emergency alert reaching every worker instantly.
It's a hazard being reported the moment it's discovered.
It's help arriving when someone presses SOS.

Safety isn't always visible.
It's found in the moments that prevent incidents before they happen.

This , we're recognizing the people, actions, and conversations that help keep workers safe every day.

Because safety starts long before an emergency.
It starts with a worker being heard, understood, and able to get help when they need it.

Most job site data never makes it into your systems.

Not because it doesn't exist, but because submitting it is too cumbersome for a worker standing on a site. Daily reports, safety observations, punch list items, inspection checklists — all of it gets written on paper, remembered wrong, or never submitted.

Walt Forms fixes that. Watch how it works:
