What happens when an AI-built app starts to outgrow the prototype stage?

Citizen Journal founder Greg Loving used ChatGPT to build a functioning local news app from the ground up. But as the platform grew, bugs became harder to manage, new features added complexity, and the app needed to expand to iOS and support more communities and advertisers.

Flint Hills Group stepped in to build on what Greg had already accomplished, not start over.

Today, Citizen Journal serves approximately 20 Kansas communities, and its app users are about 10x more engaged than website users based on Google Analytics dwell time and time per session.

It’s a great example of where we see software development heading: AI can help get an idea off the ground faster than ever, while experienced developers can help turn it into dependable, production-ready software.
