A strong storm created extremely high winds that damaged buildings, trees and power lines along parts of Wichita Falls.

Tonight we’re moving the mail server to a new virtual host. Downtime is expected to be no more than an hour. No emails should be lost, however, you may have old emails which you have recently (today deleted or archived show up again in your inboxes.

The Qualys Research Team has discovered a memory corruption vulnerability in polkit's pkexec, a SUID-root program that is installed by default on every major Linux distribution.

TL;DR: We're not affected by CVE-2021-44228

A high severity vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228) in Apache Log4j 2 utility was announced last Thursday, December 9th. This vulnerability impacts software systems and applications using the Apache Log4j 2 versions 2.0.1 up to but excluding 2.15.0.

Technical details regarding the vulnerability can be found at NVD - CVE-2021-44228 (nist.gov)

Apache Log4 is not installed on any of our servers or on any of our virtual machines, so we're safe from this vulnerability.

seems to have frozen our NOC's internet. We're aware and on top of it - as much as we can deal with fiber cuts and power loss in these trying times.

Addendum: you should not lose any email when the servers have access again, but they may be delayed.
