Creating a brand in the market, is the same as building any relationship.

Attraction is about embodying the values of the other.

Closeness is about frequency and depth of contact.

Intensity is about special, unique experiences.

Meaning: If you seem like a competent, charitable, decent human being (values), have a sign that people walk past every day, have shown up in publications that people have read (contact), and help someone who is having an emergency (depth and relief in unique experience), your customer will likely carry your brand forward, creating a ripple effect in the market. Many of ripples at the same time (due to viral, high demand products, and/or mass exposure) create a big wave.

It is the same whether you are a plumber who helps someone out of a flood with their water heater, or an electrician who helps someone not to lose all their food in their refrigerator, or a mechanic who helped a customer who was stranded, or a store that helped a customer find the right presents for Christmas, or whatever you do that adds value to any unique and special situation...
