βCONTACT MEβ isnβt a customer journey. π
Don't worry. I'm not coming for every Contact button on the internet. π
But lately, when I'm working on a website, thereβs one question I keep asking:
What does this person actually need to do next?
Letβs say someone lands on your service page.
They like what theyβre reading.
Theyβre interested.
They're thinking, βOkay...this might actually be what I need.β
They scroll to the bottom and...
CONTACT ME
But contact you for what?
What happens when they click?
And what if they ARE interested, but theyβre not quite ready to contact you?
Maybe someone who's ready to work with you needs:
Book a Consultation
But someone who's still deciding might need:
- See My Work
- View Packages
- Learn How It Works
- Download the Guide
- Check Availability
And no, this does NOT mean putting 47 buttons on every page.
PLEASE DON'T!!! π
It means thinking about where that person is in their decision, what they need from you next, and where you want to lead them.
And then making that next step ridiculously clear.
That's the difference between simply putting a CTA on a website and actually thinking about the customer journey.
Because your website shouldn't just give people information and hope they figure out what to do with it.
It should lead them somewhere.
So take a look at your own website today.
Find one of your Contact Me buttons and ask yourself:
Is this really the best next step for the person on THIS page?
You might be surprised by the answer. π
