Just in: Police investigate shooting outside Mexican restaurant in Olivette.

(First Alert 4) -The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is investigating a shooting that occurred outside a Mexican restaurant in Olivette. Olivette Police Department responded to a call for shots fired outside Chevy’s Mexican Restaurant at 9119 Olive Boulevard in Olivette, Saturday afternoon, shortly after 5:20 p. There, they found a man with gunshot wounds dead at the scene. The case squad is investigating. The identity of the man has not been released. A First Alert 4 crew at the scene saw the Olivette Police and Fire departments, as well as a St. Louis County crime scene unit and St. Louis County medical examiner.

A shoe named after Dolly Parton simply had to be a stiletto — or at least have a high heel. It was no secret that Parton was a fan of sky-high footwear. Christian Louboutin took the country singer's preference for towering heels seriously, naming a family of pumps, mules and platform heels for his friend and longtime muse. Parton passed away at the age of 80 on Aug. 25, 2026, following a battle with cancer. Not even a day later, Louboutin took to Instagram to mourn the loss, saying that he considered the "Jolene" singer to be "a true friend, a partner in sweet crimes and laughs and ALWAYS a complete inspiration.

Story making the rounds: WhatsApp chat used to send cash for crime and extremism.

The 532-member group chat, called "Traders of Greater Europe", was used to arrange cash transfers across borders for their clients, including to British cities such as Birmingham and London. In one case, payments from Brussels went to militants from the Islamic State group (IS) in Syria. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) investigative journalism network , which includes the BBC, also found wider evidence of similar cash transfer systems being used in people smuggling and drug trafficking. The group chat, which contained more than 82,000 messages sent between late February and December 2022, was first uncovered by Belgian investigating magistrate Vincent Guerra. An investigating magistrate is a judge who examines evidence in complex cases before trial and makes a recommendation about whether they should proceed.

ICYMI: NJ councilman banned from public office for role in illegal gambling ring tied to Lucchese crime family.

Add The New York Post on Google A New Jersey politician has been permanently barred from holding public office after he admitted to his role in an illegal gambling ring tied to the Lucchese crime family, where he pocketed nearly $1 million – a majority of which he used to fund his political campaign. Prospect Park Councilman Anand Shah pleaded guilty to racketeering, money laundering, and official misconduct and faces up to 10 years in prison for the scheme, New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport stated Friday. Shah, 44, was a sportsbook agent and poker manager in the gambling ring that operated across restaurants in the Garden State’s Morris, Passaic, and Bergen counties between January 2017 and August 2023. The local politician, who served as the Finance & (Economic Development) Insurance councilmember for the Borough of Prospect Park, hosted the illegal poker rings, operating with subagents and collecting "rakes" that profited him $900,084.

Just in: Police Take Part in Retail Crime Blitz.

The Burbank Police Department took part in a statewide organized retail theft operation earlier this month that led to multiple arrests. Working in collaboration with the Los Angeles Organized Retail Crime Association (LAORCA) and the California Highway Patrol Organized Retail Crime Task Force, Burbank Police participated in a statewide operation known as “Summer Blitz,” conducted from Aug. The operation focused on disrupting organized retail theft activity and holding offenders accountable for crimes that impact local businesses and the community. During the operation, Burbank Police partnered with loss prevention personnel from several Empire Center retailers, including Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Target, REI, Nordstrom Rack, Lowe’s, and ULTA. Working in both undercover and uniformed capacities, detectives and officers identified and investigated multiple theft-related criminal offenses.
