Five years ago, I started Tech Savvy LLC in the middle of a pandemic — with one tiny room, one computer, and a folding table. I didn’t have a roadmap. I didn’t have a big team. I just had a belief that I could help people through technology when the world felt upside down.
But the truth is, I didn’t start this business because I had everything figured out.
I started it because I realized something important:
I needed help!
I couldn’t do everything on my own.
And I have learned early that an island is a lonely place to be.
Empower the people around you. Help your team grow. Don’t go alone.
There were moments I almost quit. ( a few times lol)
One of the hardest was a day I was standing in the shower, overwhelmed, exhausted, and ready to throw in the towel. I remember thinking, “Maybe this isn’t going to work.”
And that’s when my wife, Sarah Tremaine, stepped in. She looked at me and said, “I don’t think you should quit. I think you should keep going. You’re doing a good job.”
That moment changed everything. Her belief in me kept this business alive.
Then in 2022, Jerry Scroggin joined the journey — and that was a turning point.
Jerry, the owner of Bayou Internet and Bayou.com, brought 17 years of experience and a deep belief in this community. He taught us to put local people first, stay true to who we are, and not reinvent the wheel when the foundation already works.
His leadership, wisdom, and steady hand have been pivotal to our growth.
Along the way, we’ve had some incredible employees — some who are still with us, some who moved on to new chapters. Each one played a part in building Tech Savvy. Each one taught us something about leadership, teamwork, and what it means to run a business that cares about people. Ramses Oakley, Brittany Williams and Joseph Newman Just to name a few.
If there’s one lesson these five years have taught me, it’s this:
Relationships are the core of business.
Not the product.
Not the equipment.
Not the technology.
It’s the people who work with you and the people you serve.
Help the person — not just the problem.
Today, Tech Savvy is more than a business.
It’s a story of resilience.
A story of community.
A story of family, partnership, and grit.
And now — we get to celebrate.
