Before the Charger, There’s the System
Most people think an EV installation starts when the charger goes on the wall. It doesn’t. It starts at the main service.
On this project, we began with a full assessment of the electrical system — checking the meter, reviewing the breaker layout, measuring the actual distance for the new run, and evaluating how the existing setup (including solar equipment) would handle continuous EV load.
Side yard access was tight, routing had to stay clean and code-compliant, and the new circuit needed to be planned with long-term performance in mind. Continuous charging isn’t the same as plugging in a regular appliance — it’s a sustained load that your panel must be ready for.
No shortcuts. No guessing. Just proper planning before any hardware gets installed.
That’s how you build an EV-ready home the right way.
