To me, the spread of Bitcoin as a global currency is more important than the price of Bitcoin because, as a global currency, the price will rise higher and the volatility will reduce. However, I do agree with Coinbase as Bitcoin being the digital gold.

Completion of transactions in a block are one thing, paying high fees is another.

It's possible to improve the time it takes to complete transactions later, but high fees should be addressed now.
