Two leaks drain most ad accounts.

One: bad traffic. Without a maintained negative keyword list, Google sends you searches that will never buy from you. Two: dumping clicks onto your homepage. Someone searches for a specific problem, lands on a generic page, and bounces. That is why people say Google Ads did not work. It works. It just was not set up right.

Where do your ad clicks land right now, homepage or a real landing page?

Someone visits your website and leaves. Gone forever? Not with retargeting.

A small tracking pixel goes on your site. Anyone who visits gets added to a custom audience on the ad platforms. Now you can put any message in front of them, any time. Even a quick 30 second video from you, straight to people who looked but did not buy yet. Those are your best buyers. They already know the problem and the solution. That audience is gold.

Is retargeting running on your website right now?

Meta quietly moved the goalposts again. Advantage+ automation now controls up to 80% of creative selection in fully automated campaigns (up from about 60%), and Messenger Stories dies as a placement today.

Translation for local businesses: the machine decides which of your ads runs where. Your only real lever left is what you feed it.

Generic stock photos in = generic results out. Real photos of your crew, your trucks, your before-and-afters = the algorithm finds the people who respond to REAL.

The businesses complaining about Meta ads and the ones winning with them are running the same automation. Different raw material.

What's in your ad account right now - stock photos or real jobs? ๐Ÿ‘‡

You are probably paying people to do work software could handle. Not to cut jobs - to take the boring, repeated stuff off their plate so they can do higher level work.

Two big ones: answering the phone the same way every time, and copy-pasting the same messages week after week. Both can run on their own while your team handles real work.

What is one task your office repeats every single week?

Every town has one electrician booked solid and three sitting by the phone. I've watched this play out since 2013, and it's almost never about who does better work.

It's visibility. 97% of people read reviews before choosing a local business. 41% won't choose without them. The booked-solid electrician shows up in the map pack with 80 reviews when a homeowner's panel starts buzzing at 9pm. The others might be better electricians. Nobody finds out.

The good news: the whole stack is buildable. Complete Google listing. Steady reviews. Local Services Ads (average electrical lead: about $53 vs $104 from regular ads). A site with a page per service and per town. And answering the phone.

I put the whole electrician playbook in one guide: go.speedmobi.com/electrician-marketing-guide-fb

Spending thousands and swearing marketing does not work? Most of the time the ads are just run wrong.

Negative keyword lists nobody maintains. Half the budget wasted on bad traffic. Landing pages that do not talk to the customer. Advertising is hard enough when it is done right. Done wrong, it is almost guaranteed to fail.

Has anyone outside your ad company ever checked your account?

A shop with 40 reviews can outrank one with 400. The secret is review velocity.

Google cares less about your total and more about how many reviews came in over the last 30 days. Fresh beats big. So the little guy getting steady new reviews can pass the big guy sitting on old ones in the Google Maps.

How many new reviews did you get in the last 30 days?

The sad truth about most ad campaigns: the ad works, and the website kills the sale.

Here's what I mean. Most companies run ads straight to their homepage. Makes sense in their head: "I want people on my website anyway, right?"

But think about who clicked. Someone with ONE problem. A dead outlet. A leaking water heater. They land on your homepage and it's a menu with nine options, a slider, and your mission statement. Now it's THEIR job to find the answer. Most people don't click around. They hit back and call the next guy.

The belief to install today: match the page to the search. One service, one page. Their problem in the headline, your solution front and center, proof stacked around it: reviews, guarantees, license, real photos.

I wrote up exactly what belongs on that page (and the 5-second test to run on yours): go.speedmobi.com/ads-to-homepage-mistake-fb

New survey stat that made me smile: only 6% of small businesses publish AI-written content as-is. 48% heavily edit it first.

That's the right instinct. AI is a great first draft and a terrible final voice. Your customers can smell generic a mile away, and your voice is the one thing competitors can't copy.

Our rule: AI for the skeleton, owner for the voice and the facts. Never let a robot talk to your customers unsupervised.

How do you use AI in your business: drafts, everything, or not at all?
