They have been notified and are investigating the issue.

Business owners are receiving fake ransom threats by mail. Yes, actual letters in the mail.

The letters claim to be from the ransomware group BianLian.

They warn: “We have successfully hacked and extracted data from your company’s network.”

A ransom of $250,000 to $500,000 in Bitcoin is demanded, with a 10-day deadline.

Some of the letters are customized by industry and refer to patient data for healthcare organizations, etc

But the FBI confirms these threats are fake. No evidence of actual breaches, just a scam to trick businesses into paying.

The letters are marked “TIME SENSITIVE” with a Boston, MA return address.

There is a current issue affecting Outlook for some users. We've noticed the issue is more prevalent on users that have switched to the Outlook (New) version of the application. Here is the advisory text from Microsoft:

Following further investigation, we have determined that Outlook on the web is likely not a viable workaround for most organizations affected by this issue. As a result, we have removed this guidance from our communications. We understand the impact this issue has on affected organizations and are actively working on alternative solutions while our engineering teams focus on resolving the problem.

Here’s a before and after of a GPU that needed a really good cleaning.

This is from a smokers household.

The tar from smoking mixes with the dust in the air and creates a sticky layer on everything. This is torture on your PC’s cooling components. Typical symptoms include sluggish performance and sudden power loss. Absolute worst case scenario is the dust becomes conductive and creates a short on board components.

Help Missouri pass common-sense repair legislation that would allow consumers and independent repair businesses access the tools, parts, and information necessary to fix the devices that you legally own. Missouri bills HB975 and HB1118 would make it possible for more devices to be repaired and extend the useable life of not just electronics and computers, but also farm equipment, medical equipment, personal vehicles, appliances, and other items that would otherwise require a total replacement.

For our clients, this means more access to parts and service manuals to repair servers, networking equipment, phones, tablets, computers, printers, or any other devices that we use daily. You already paid $1399 on your MacBook, why shouldn't you be able to get it fixed?

We're not a politically motivated business, but these bills directly affect our ability to provide service to our customers.
