💻 Kids are building computers — and changing lives in the process.

Through our build IT program, young people ages 8–12 assemble real desktop computers that go directly to Maine families who need them most. No cost to the family. Just kids doing something remarkable.

So far, more than 260 participants have built and delivered over 340 computers to their neighbors — from Augusta to Eastport.

In 2026, we’re growing this program statewide. If you’re a teacher, after-school program, or community organization, we’d love to bring build IT to your learners.

The password advice you learned 5 years ago is outdated. Here's what's changed in 2026:
OLD ADVICE: Change your password every 60-90 days
NEW ADVICE: Only change when there's a security concern
Why? Forced frequent changes led people to create weaker passwords or make minimal adjustments ("Password1" becomes "Password2"). A strong, unique password can last years if properly protected. Learn more of our tips for 2026 here:

In communities across Northern, Central, and Western Maine, students are overcoming incredible barriers:
