"What are these "external" tags on my email?". Microsoft is pushing hard to help prevent end users from believing an email coming in from the outside and impersonating someone internal. Tagging emails from external senders helps to inform end users about the origin of the email. This can allow them to proceed with more caution and make informed decisions when it comes to identifying spam or phishing emails. Can help minimize the damage from CEO/Exec impersonation emails.

May of you may have been receiving these notifications from Microsoft. They are legitimate! Microsoft will be increasing their security by having all users add Passkeys to their Microsoft Authenticator app on their phone in the next several months. It will be a gradual rollout controlled by Microsoft. And the good old "send a text code to your phone" (SMS) as well as voice call for the code...will be disabled early next year. This is a good thing! The passkeys are quite easy to use. With todays cyber security risks, the primary players such as Microsoft and Google are ramping up their security, a necessary evil in today world of cyber threats. We will be here to help our level plan customers if needed, but honestly when it comes your turn...you'll see the alert on your screen and a hand holding guide will launch and walk you through the process.

Retirement Day today for our longtime tech Dave Hassler! Also known as "Super Dave" around the office. Dave has been in the IT field since 1986....and I met Dave when I joined the Groton CT Computer Land franchise around...oh...1998...which evolved into Groton Computer Group. Dave joined Dynamic Alliance in 2004. He has been known in our office for his dedication, his ability to sniff out the root of the problem he is working on, and his easy going laid back manner! We wish Dave "The Best" in his retirement...he will be sorely missed by all of us, and our clients. "Happy Retirement Dave!"
