VBM Technology Management Partners is the Valley's leading provider of IT and Business Equipment Services. VBM Technology Management Partners is currently reviewing applications for self-motivated, detail-oriented document scanner operators. The workload varies based on the demand of clientele. This is a part-time job at our Wasilla Headquarters. This is a temporary part-time position, but has a chance of becoming permanent.
Duties:
• You will be tasked with scanning confidential records organized in folders and stored in filing boxes.
• You will remove the documents from the folders, remove staples and other obstructions that can't be run through a scanner. VBM Technology Management Partners will provide production quality scan devices capable of scanning thousands of pages per day.
• There is a great deal of computer usage when scanning, saving and naming records; VBM Technology Management Partners will train you on the process of saving the files to the computer.
• Since these files are often protected health information, you will receive training on best privacy procedures and compliance with HIPAA and State of Alaska confidentiality laws.
• Tools for this job will be provided by VBM Technology Management Partners
• Initial pay is $12 per hour, with an expected 30-38 hours per week. Flex-Time is optional, allowing for (4) 9-hour days per week or (5) 7.5-hour days per week.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Basic computer literacy skills required.
• Must be able to work alone and stay on task.
• GED preferred but not required.
• Must be VERY detail oriented...integrity of the information is paramount.
• Ability to quickly sift through stacks of paper and organize for scanning.
• Applicants must have reliable transportation to VBM and be able to pass a Criminal Background and drug test.

VBM Alaska is seeking an energetic and highly motivated candidate for the position of Copier/MFP/Printer Field Service Technician to support the needs of our Copier/MFP/Printer Clients. This is an amazing career opportunity for someone wanting to start a career-style job. RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
• Performing new hardware installation and upgrades.
• Providing technical support and customer service via email, remote, phone, and on-site for the Sharp and OKI Data printers/copiers and MFPs we sell and support.
• Providing mechanical and electrical repairs to office equipment.
• Providing Key Operator training on basic copier functions
• Installing and configuring Printer/Scanner drivers
• Troubleshooting FAX issues.

SUCCESSFUL CANIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
• Demonstrable troubleshooting skills in a similar industry
• Experience with working on equipment and skill with electrical and mechanical tools

As the situation continues to escalate in Ukraine and Russia, VBM Alaska is monitoring the possibility of heightened cybersecurity attacks on the customers we partner with and will be verifying and implementing heightened security standards for our customer partners.

VBM Alaska monitors the Department of Homeland security and other sources for warnings of potential increases in Cyber Attacks. The Department of Homeland security and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued such a warning hours after Russia invaded the Ukraine stating that they expect to see an increase in Cyber Attacks based on the U.S. Sanctions that are being issued against Russia. VBM Alaska will be proactively verifying and adjusting security settings for our customer partners over the next several days. The areas that VBM Alaska will be looking into are as follows;

• Verification and adjustment of customers’ Trend Micro Endpoint Security settings
• Verification and adjustment of customers’ firewall settings
o Enabling Geolocation blocking (available with WatchGuard )
o Disabling unnecessary firewall port openings
o Verification of Internet Intrusion Detection and Protection Settings (available with WatchGuard Appliances)
• Verification and adjustment of customers’ Remote Desktop Gateway security settings
• Verification and adjustment of customers’ Email spam settings
• Optimization and testing of all customer server backups for data integrity and failover ability (Data Backups are already verified daily)

VBM Alaska also is asking our customer partners to be on heightened awareness in regards to emails and files that are received as this is 1 of the most prevalent attack vectors for cyber hacking events also known as Phishing emails. At the bottom of the post are some common tools to utilize for detecting and preventing phishing.

VBM Alaska provides Email-Protection training and monitoring for our customers using the PhishingBox solution. PhishingBox provides Training, Education and Testing/Reporting for improving protection from malicious emails (I.e. Email Phishing, Spear Phishing) which is the primary delivery vector for Ransomware and Email-based threats. VBM hosts the entire process, with reporting that identifies which of your employees may have risky habits such as opening attachments, or clicking on Phishing links with emails.
