There’s a whole lot of trial and error that goes into running a business, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that you’re probably going to get a few things wrong along the way. And that’s okay.

Try the thing. Take the risk. Put yourself out there. You can’t figure out what works if you never give it a shot.

We are, in fact, not from Texas. 😂 But we heard this song was popular, and after spending the day on-site for a client product + branding session with horses and some seriously beautiful custom leather tack…it just felt right. Catch the OCD team buying cowboy boots and hats now!

Big shoutout to Matt Wilson for working his magic behind the camera and letting us tag along for the fun. We love getting out from behind our computers and helping bring a client’s brand to life in the real world.

There's a reason "I know a guy" websites end up on my desk six months later asking for a rebuild.

When you miss your Q2 planning session, you roll it into Q3, grab some coffee, and call it good.

The OCD team got together at our favorite local spot, UnderGROUNDS, to recap the last couple of quarters, celebrate some wins, talk about what worked, what didn't, revisit our goals, and make a game plan for Q4!

When was the last time you checked in on your Google Business Profile? 👀

You don’t need to be changing your hours, moving locations, or updating your phone number to give it a little attention.

Adding fresh photos, publishing updates, responding to reviews, checking that your services and information are accurate, and keeping your profile active all send good signals to Google. It also gives potential customers fresh, accurate information when they find you in search.

Think of your Google Business Profile as another piece of your online presence. You wouldn’t build a website and never look at it again. Your Google profile shouldn’t be any different.

So... when’s the last time you gave yours a little love? 😏

The internet told me to tell you what I think is chic and I understood the assignment.

A lot has changed around here over the years, but the good stuff has only gotten better. More experience, bigger projects, a pretty great team, clients near and far, and the freedom to build this business in a way that works for us.

20 years later and I’m still here, still creating, and still having a whole lot of fun doing it… I’d say that worked out pretty well. 😉

I'll be honest, I never really had a vision for this little business. Maybe I was too scared to dream big? All I knew was that I wanted to design logos, build websites, and help other businesses thrive with their marketing. That part has always come naturally to me. I never stopped to think about my long-term goals. I kept moving forward. I guess you could say I'm not a great business owner, at least not in the planning sense of things.

So every now and then I step back and look at how far I've come. This little idea has grown beyond my wildest dreams, but not without grit, effort, a few tears, and a lot of hard work. Above all, I give God the glory. None of this happened without Him.

Being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. Well-intentioned people can be cruel and condescending. Competition can be fierce and cutthroat. And to succeed, your brain pretty much always has to be on the business, especially in those early days.

So next time you're visiting a small business, give them a word of encouragement. Leave them a Google review. Or buy something from them. We're the backbone of this country, and staying here takes everything we've got.
