When people think about logo design, they often picture choosing an icon or arranging a few shapes in Illustrator. But a meaningful logo starts long before the design software ever opens.

Whether my clients serve Catholic or secular audiences, I believe every brand deserves thoughtful stewardship. A logo should tell a story: one that's rooted in a business's mission, values, vision, and the transformation it creates for the people it serves.

That's why strategy always comes first. Before we ever explore colors, typography, or symbols, we uncover the deeper foundation that gives every design decision purpose.

Relara's brand is built on the idea that every aspect of our wellbeing is connected. Here's a look at how that philosophy shaped the meaning behind its logo.

(And if you're curious about the strategy behind brands like this, my newsletter is where I share more of the thinking that happens before the design.)

One of my favorite parts of branding is creating the look of a business in alignment with the way it feels. So I'm excited to finally share Relara's new identity and celebrate Christina as she steps into this next chapter of her business! Swipe through to see how her logo system comes together.

A strong brand isn't just one logo. It's a family of marks that gives your business flexibility and consistency everywhere your audience encounters it. Here's what you're seeing:

• Slide 1: The primary logo—the complete lockup that may include a symbol, wordmark, tagline, or other supporting elements.

• Slide 2: The secondary logo—a simplified version that's perfect for places where the full logo won't fit.

• Slide 3: The logomark—the standalone symbol that becomes instantly recognizable over time.

• Slide 4: The wordmark—the business name, thoughtfully crafted using your brand typography.

But before any of these pieces come to life, something even more important has to happen: you have to discern what your business is actually called to communicate. I'll share more about what Christina set out to communicate with Relara's logo in my next post.

That's also why I've been quietly working on something new for Catholic women entrepreneurs who feel called to build a beautiful, intentional brand, but aren't ready for a fully custom design project.

It's part brand strategy, part creative direction, and part guided discernment, so you can uncover the heart of your brand *before* you start choosing colors, fonts, and logos.

If that sounds like exactly what you've been looking for, make sure you're on my email list. I'll be sharing more very soon!

Even if a client doesn’t ever plan to embroider their logo on a tote, I just love to see how it might look. It’s just so fun to see a new brand in different applications, from business cards to websites, accessories to signage. When you design a logo with care and intention, the possibilities for the business it belongs to are wide-reaching.

This, by the way, is the logo for my client Relara! Founder Christina Tymony is on a mission to help support and empower working women experiencing perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause through Relara, offering coaching and consulting services for women and workplaces. As a woman in her 40s, I’m honestly very excited to see her vision come to life.

And yes, it’s been awhile, I know. I’ve had my head down focusing on clients like Christina. I’ll be sharing more of her new brand—and others—soon!
