𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀?
An IP address is a unique number that identifies a device on a network (like phones, computers, smart TVs). Without it, devices can’t talk to each other on the internet.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀
An IP address looks like this 👉 192.168.1.15
It has 2 parts:
✔ 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗜𝗗 → 192.168.1
✔ 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗗 → 15

Network ID = shows which network the device belongs to

Host ID = shows the exact device in that network

𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗣 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀
✅ 𝗜𝗣𝘃𝟰 → 32-bit, about 4.3 billion addresses, but running out.
✅ 𝗜𝗣𝘃𝟲 → 128-bit, almost unlimited addresses (3.4×10³⁸).

✔ 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗣 → Used on the internet, unique worldwide.

✔ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗣 → Stays the same, fixed address.

𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗣 → Many websites share the same IP (cheap and common).

🌍 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 → Sends data to all devices in a network.
👤 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 → One-to-one communication.
👥 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 → One-to-many communication.
📍 𝗔𝗻𝘆𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 → Sends data to the nearest available device.
