AI is changing the way organizations work, but successful adoption starts with people. 🌟

At the Future-Ready Forum hosted by the DC Chamber of Commerce, ESI’s Desiree Dietz joined leaders across business, government, and education to discuss how AI is shaping the future of workforce strategy.

➡️ One theme stood out: AI is most effective when supported by strong leadership, workforce training, and thoughtful implementation.

✅ As ESI continues expanding how we use AI in our own solutions, conversations like these help guide how we approach innovation for the workplace and the public sector.

Progress doesn’t happen all at once. It’s built through leadership, opportunity, and the impact women make every day.

During Women’s History Month, we recognize the contributions of women across industries who continue to move organizations forward.

As a women-owned business, we’re proud to support a culture where women’s voices, ideas, and leadership help shape what’s next.

ESI’s Robin, Robert, Desi, and Desiree attended the WMATA Metro Procurement Fair, connecting with procurement officials, partners, and others across the supplier community. 🌟

The team spent time with WMATA leadership and joined sessions focused on doing business with Metro and strengthening small businesses. Throughout the day, conversations highlighted vendor expectations and upcoming opportunities.

It was also a great chance to strengthen existing relationships and put faces to names we’ve connected with virtually. 🤝

Procurement is more than purchasing. It plays a key role in how organizations operate and deliver.

So, what is procurement? 🤔
It’s the process of sourcing and managing the goods, services, and partners needed to keep everything moving.

At ESI, our procurement and contracts professionals support project delivery across federal, state, and local agencies. Their work helps keep everything aligned, efficient, and moving forward.

This , we thank the people behind the process and recognize the impact they make every day.

I’m Elizabeth Whitney-Lagow, a Process Writer at ESI! 👋

✍️ I joined ESI one year ago and work on technical documentation supporting the DC Medicaid system. Over the past year, I’ve written and edited billing manuals, provider communications, internal knowledge base content, and helped prepare public web portal pages to go live.

📚 My days are filled with reading, writing, editing, researching, and organizing information. I often think of myself as a mini project manager for both my own work and the teams I support. Writing and technical communication are true passions of mine.

✨ One moment I’m especially proud of was when the 22 billing manuals I worked on for months were approved. That project required writing, rewriting, managing version control, and creating a change process. I learned so much about Medicaid and worked closely with the client on documentation that providers use routinely to support care.

🎶 Outside of work, I love traveling. I got married in Las Vegas, visited England, and am planning a trip to Paris next. I also love concerts and listening to almost every genre of music... except country.

💡 A quote that has always stuck with me is:“Every piece of writing is an argument for a version of truth.”

For nearly 18 years, ESI has built its growth on thoughtful planning and clear goals. ✅

Over two days, our team came together to reflect on lessons learned, celebrate company successes, and shape our strategy for 2026.

The trees featured here include tags representing the goals and priorities we’re working toward this year. 🌱 It’s a visual reminder of what we’ve accomplished and where we’re headed next.

ESI’s Shaw Skurnick and Desiree Dietz participated in the ACT-IAC Gives Back volunteer event supporting the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).

They joined fellow volunteers to package potatoes for local families in need. What may seem like a small contribution quickly revealed its impact through teamwork and the volume of food prepared for distribution. 🥔

It was a meaningful way to give back and support an organization that serves thousands of residents experiencing food insecurity.

ESI’s Robin Appia and Desiree Dietz joined fellow members of the Women in Business Committee for their Galentine’s Celebration. 🧡

The evening brought together women leaders to connect, share ideas, and strengthen relationships in a relaxed and welcoming space. It’s always meaningful to step away from the day-to-day and invest in building community.

Grateful to be surrounded by women who continue to support, uplift, and inspire one another.
