The DC|DC is a community center where youth, individuals and families can come together in the spirit of unity to awaken dreams. From mentoring and tutoring to an after school program, we are dedicated to serving the needs of the community through a holistic approach, which is made possible through our partners, volunteers and donations. The building is a four-story community space with an art cen

ter, dance studio, computer lab, basketball court, meeting spaces and offices to serve and bring new opportunities to the community. Our goal is simple: to provide a safe space that inspires the next generation to be leaders who dare to dream and reach their full potential.

Last month we hosted the annual Job Fair! In partnership with Anacostia River Church and Better Together, we welcomed 345 attendees who have faced barriers to employment. Each participant received an orientation that included words of encouragement and a gospel presentation. Career coaches were available to offer support and resume assistance, and there was a free meal afterward. One attendee shared that after 25 years of incarceration, he left having made a connection with UPS that he was very excited about! We are so thankful for a God of second chances, and we praise Him for the stories of hope that He is writing!

We’ve just wrapped up eight weeks of STEM programming with Beta Omega Social Services, Inc.! The group met on Saturdays, with a focus on math, reading and writing skills for ages 8-11. We love seeing the students grow their skills and confidence week by week, and we’re looking forward to partnering again with Boss Tech next month for summer camp!
