SPRING CLEANING FOR YOUR TECHNOLOGY
Spring cleaning shouldn’t stop at closets—it should include your technology too.
Most businesses have old laptops, retired printers, backup drives, and mystery cables collecting dust somewhere. The real issue isn’t having outdated tech—it’s having no plan for what happens next.
A simple framework:
1️⃣ Inventory what you have
2️⃣ Decide on the destination: reuse, recycle, or securely destroy
3️⃣ Prepare the device properly. Be careful here: A study found that 42% of resold drives purchased on eBay still contained sensitive data, including personal tax records and passport information.*
4️⃣ Document where everything went
Done right, retiring old tech improves security, frees up space, and supports sustainability. Ensuring the rest of your technology aligns with your goals keeps you moving forward.
If you’d like to take a step back and review how your tech stack, systems and processes are supporting your productivity and profitability, we’re happy to have that conversation. Read our blog to learn more and set up a quick 10-minute call.
