From time to time, our engineers, PMs, and HR sit down for an open discussion, not a lecture, on a topic the team picks itself.

This time: AI tools in daily work.

Claude turned out to be the clear daily driver across the team, replacing tools that were “default” a year ago. But the more interesting part wasn’t which tool won. It was where AI still breaks: messy logic on large codebases, tokens burned chasing the wrong file, teams re-learning that someone still has to stay in the loop.

Today is International Burger Day 🍔

Originally, burgers became popular because they combined something simple and convenient with a structure that could scale fast, from small diners to global chains.

And honestly, software products work pretty much the same way.

From the outside, a product can look clean and simple.

You hired strong engineers and set up processes.
So why are deadlines still missed?

Here are three real reasons we see across teams:

Your team is overloaded with tasks at once: bugs, new features, ongoing product work. Constant context switching slows everything down.
There’s no dedicated AI expertise. Building AI products requires a different skill set, and delivery always reveals that gap.
Team expansion happens too late. By the time new people are hired and onboarded, the opportunity is already lost.

In most cases, the team isn’t the problem. The structure is.
