The folks at Warwick Sanitation are far and above the others. Granted they are local, but they understand the clients as much as doing the tasks at hand. I will continue to recommend them to my friends and neighbors. Thanks folks.

Folks:
Be careful of some of the new emails that are being send directly to you. Some will say they are from Optimum or Orange & Rockland, but if you look carefully at the email address (or just hover your mouse over the "press here" icon) you will notice that the link definition that pops up will not be from who they say they are. Delete the email immediately, then I suggest you run your anti-virus scan. Good luck and stay safe.

Folks
I had to help a client who was hacked by a (low life human) hacker who used Microsoft's BitLocker tool (it is a drive encryption app) to try and scam her. Fortunately we prevented any further scam, but did have to rebuild the drive from scratch. If you do keep any personal/sensitive/financial information on your computer consider implementing BitLocker first so these scams do happen to you. Let me know if you want information on how to do this.

Everyone using Optimum service I just receive a very sneaky scam that looked like it came from Optimum, and it almost had me enter things like bank account and credit card #. Do Not Reply to this email.

I sent a email to all my clients warning them of the same old scam starting all over again. If somebody from "Microsoft or Apple" etc calls you and says they need access to your computer, simply hang up. Microsoft and others will not call you on the telephone, these jerks are just scammers who don't have a life and I suspect their parents and children are not very proud of them....

Folks: There is a new scam going around where a guy calls and says he is from Microsoft and needs to get access to your computer to fix a bug. Do not let this happen, This is an old scam that has resurfaced and is costing people a lot of money for no reason.

Happy New Year to all of my clients and friends. We wish you all good luck and happiness throughout the year.

Fortunately Microsoft has stayed pretty stable after their last round of Windows updates, but if you have any issues of questions feel free to call or email.

I sent a virus warning out to my clients yesterday identifying another one of those fake "do not turn off your computer" web scams. Let me know if you need any more details as far as what to do.

To everyone I know and perhaps have supported their computers. I am advising you and anyone you want to tell, there has been a number of scam phone calls from "computer support companies" who tell you that they provide support on a low fee basis and are reliable and responsive. This is absolute BS. Please Please Please, do not allow anyone to access your computer unless you have done business with them in the past (like Verizon, AT&T etc, that is verifiable) or someone you have met face to face and have some sort of direct contact with. There are many reputable local computer service companies that are reliable and will not take over your computer or end up in ransomware.

Heads up folks that stupid USPS email scam is going around again. If you get an email from the post office be careful and don't click on any of the links. Just delete it.
