The Social Security Administration has warned of a significant increase in scam emails that falsely claim to provide access to a recipient’s Social Security statement. These emails can appear legitimate at first glance. They try to mislead recipients into opening attachments (which may install malware) or clicking links (which may lead to fake websites designed to steal personal and financial information). Be careful!

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you the ability to stop many unwanted sales calls by registering your home and/or mobile phone number. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it’s been on the National Do Not Call Registry for 31 days. However, other types of organizations are still allowed to call you — including charities, political groups, debt collectors, and survey companies.
