A Hawaii classic, in a whole new can. ☕️

We had so much fun designing the Lion Coffee Cold Brew can and finding a way to bring such an iconic, instantly recognizable look into a new format.

When you get to work with a brand that’s been part of Hawaiʻi’s coffee culture for generations, you want to honor what people already love while giving it a little something new. We think this one hits that sweet spot. 🌺🤌

Just because Ian ~technically~ doesn’t work at SDG anymore, it doesn’t mean we’ve accepted it 🤷🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Today we’re celebrating Ian—and saying a very big mahalo as he wraps up 13 years with Sae Design Group. 🤯

Over the years, Ian has been part of hundreds of projects, helped lead and grow our team, and brought his creativity, perspective, and plenty of humor into the office every day. He’s also never been one to turn down a funny video, which has given us more than a few memories we’ll be laughing about for years to come.

Ian has been such an important part of SDG and an even better friend and teammate. We’re going to miss having him around more than we can say, but we’re incredibly grateful for the 13 years of hard work, laughs, creativity, and friendship.

Mahalo for everything, Ian. We’re lucky to have had you as part of the SDG ʻohana. 🥳🫶

If you’re heading to Wailuku First Friday this week, take a moment to stop by the Wailuku Parking Structure and check out the new ✨ Community Wall Art. ✨

This mural is extra special because it was created with our community. During last year’s First Friday events, we invited everyone to share what wai (water) means to them, and those individual pieces became part of this permanent installation celebrating Wailuku and the stories that connect us to Nā Wai ʻEhā. 💧

What started as a community art activity is now a colorful reminder that Wailuku is shaped by the people who call it home.

Whether you helped paint a piece, came by to watch, or are seeing it for the first time, we hope you’ll stop by, snap a photo, and take a closer look the next time you’re in town.

See you at First Friday, and mahalo to our partner Park Maui for helping bring this community project to life!

All jokes aside, we love our team and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Sometimes a refresh is all your brand needs to make a stronger impression!

We love this logo refresh we did for Ulupalakua Ranch Store a few years back. UR is a cultural staple within Maui’s Upcountry history, and we loved the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with such a legacy brand.

Whether you’re trying to create a stronger tie to your company’s history, modernize a dated aesthetic, or achieve both at the same time, we’ve got you covered.

This partnership is just *chefs kiss 😘

Thank you Mana Up | Hawaiʻi Business Accelerator for bringing us back for our 5th year to conduct our brand strategy workshop! We love you guys!!

Also peep this accidental matching situation Craig Rachelle Ouye Kahalekulu 🕺🏻⚡️🐯✨🍄 🤪🫶🏼

Can anyone else relate??

Some projects just hit different. 🎯

The 2026 Maui Humane Society Calendar was one of those projects that reminded us why we love what we do. This year’s edition brought together Maui’s first responders and some very photogenic four-legged co-stars to celebrate the people (and animals) who make our community special. 🐕

We had the opportunity to help bring the calendar to life through design, working alongside an incredible team that donated their time and talent to support Maui Humane Society’s mission.

And yes, it turns out firefighters, lifeguards, police officers, and puppies are a pretty hard combination to beat!

Mahalo to everyone who helped make this project happen. We’re proud to have played a small part in something that supports such an important cause for our island community. 🐾

🍫 How fun are these custom SDG chocolates??

ICYMI— We made these super fun custom chocolate gifts for our clients this past holiday season. We had so much fun designing custom packaging and working directly with to create a custom mold!

Not only did we get to collaborate with a small local business on this project then share this makana with our SDG community, but we ALSO won a silver for the design! 🎁

Packaging is one of our favorite types of design processes. We’ve done so many custom packaged designs for our clients, and it was so fun to do one for SDG! 🥳
