September 11th is a day etched permanently in my heart. I was driving to work when I first heard about the towers, desperately hoping it was just some cruel radio hoax. When I walked into the office, a few of us crowded around a conference room projector, watching the live coverage unfold in stunned silence. That was the exact moment the second plane hit. It felt like a physical blow to the soul of the country, marking the darkest aviation tragedy in our history—one that would forever reshape how we travel, secure our skies, and protect one another.

More than anything, my heart aches for the thousands who lost their lives that day, as well as the brave souls who gave their lives in the years since from the toxic air they breathed while working at ground zero.
