Microsoft has announced that its built-in SMS and voice authentication services will be retired on February 1, 2027. Organizations currently using these methods for multi-factor authentication (MFA) will need to transition to more secure options such as Microsoft Authenticator or passkeys.
While the deadline is still ahead, proactive planning today can help avoid user disruption tomorrow.
Our team is reviewing client environments to identify those impacted by this change and will be reaching out to discuss migration options and best practices.
