It’s a new year and you and your iPhone deserve all day battery again.

Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health

If you’re below 80% it’s time for a new battery. If you’re in the low 80% range you can benefit from a new battery.

If you’re under warranty and your battery is below 80% you can get a new battery free of charge. If not a new genuine Apple battery for your iPhone is anywhere from $70-$120.

When "You Need a New Phone" Actually Means "You Need a Software Update"

This is what bothers us: A customer came to us after visiting the Apple Store. They wanted to buy AirPods Pro to use the new hearing aid feature.

But instead of being honest with the customer the Apple employee told them "your iPhone is too old ... you will need to buy a new iPhone 16e to use the AirPods Pro as hearing aids."

The customer had an iPhone SE (2nd generation) running iOS 18 and a pending update for iOS 26.

When the customer came to us we decided to do some research and check Apple's actual compatibility requirements along with other forums. According to their own documentation, you need:
• AirPods Pro 2 or 3
• iOS 18 or later
• That's it.
Apple doesn't publicly state what devices the Hearing Aid feature works with just what iOS version.

So we updated their iPhone SE 2 to iOS 26 (the latest version). Took about 15 minutes or so depending on internet speed. We did this because even though iOS 18 is the minimum requirement the AirPods Pro 3 need iOS 26 to function fully.

The result? The new AirPods Pro 3 paired perfectly. Every single hearing health feature worked flawlessly. The customer walked out with exactly what they needed—without spending $600+ on a phone they didn't need.
