🔴 THE TIME WE "BROKE INTO" A LOCAL LAW FIRM... 🤫💼
A couple of years back, one of our Mitec technicians, Nick, headed out to a scheduled appointment to repair a client's server.
He arrived right on time, walked up to the front desk, and announced himself: "Hi, I'm here from Mitec to work on your server." 🧑💻
The receptionist was incredibly polite. She walked him straight back to the server room, looked up their records, handed over the administrator password, and headed back to her desk. Nick got to work. 🛠️
About 30 minutes later, our office phone rings. It’s our actual client:
"Hey, we were expecting our Mitec tech a while ago. Is he running late?" 🤔
Our office manager, completely confused, calls Nick: "Nick, where are you?"
Nick: "I'm at the appointment, looking through their server."
Office Manager: "Uh... they just called and said you aren't there. What address are you at?" 🛑
Turns out, Nick read back the address and he was in the wrong suite. He was at the law firm NEXT DOOR. 🤦♂️
They just let a total stranger walk in, handed him the literal keys to their digital kingdom, and left him alone for 30 minutes! 🗝️🏢
It ended up being a great lesson for everyone. We apologized profusely, bought them a nice bottle of wine, and after we pointed out the massive security gap, they actually became a long-time, happy Mitec client. 🍷✨
