Most developers can point to a few moments that accelerated their growth. A challenging project. A new responsibility. A teammate who shared their expertise at just the right time.

At Source Allies, we believe those opportunities should be part of everyday work. Teammates are encouraged to take on new challenges, learn from one another, and continue building their skills throughout their careers.

Source Allies strives to be a place where growth is an expectation and learning never stops. Explore opportunities at https://bit.ly/SourceAllies-Careers

May was one of those months that showcased the many ways our teammates at Source Allies learn, share, and connect.

We continued investing in the local tech community by hosting four user groups, bringing together developers and technology enthusiasts to explore wide ranging topics. These events remind us how valuable it is to create spaces where people can learn from one another.

We added to our own learning library with a new Technically Speaking episode where Jacob shared why he thinks GEPA is "just the coolest." Giving teammates opportunities to share the technologies and ideas they're excited about is one of our favorite parts of creating this content.

Our team spent plenty of time on stage this month as well. Ben and Matt presented their work on 'Self-improving GenAI without fine-tuning" to audiences at both Open Source North and the Iowa Artificial Intelligence Summit for Industry at Iowa State University. Cecil represented Source Allies at CommunityDays Kansas City, sharing his expertise and continuing our tradition of giving back through technical leadership.

Inside the company, we recognized Mental Health Awareness Month with group walks, chair massages, ice cream, and some very popular puppy visits. Our Monthly 'Food & Friends' at Smash Park gave us the chance to relax as well as welcome our 2 summer apprentices to the team. Taking care of ourselves and each other is just as important as the work we do every day.

We kicked off DSM Corporate Games with sand volleyball, giving teammates a chance to trade keyboards for teamwork on the court and represent Source Allies in a completely different arena.

And because no month is complete without a little fun, our teammate Joe took on the challenge of our Hot Source event, testing his tolerance against increasingly spicy wings. Some challenges involve architecture decisions. Others involve hot sauce. Both require courage.

Looking back, May was a great example of what we value: sharing knowledge, supporting community, investing in our people, and finding JOY along the way.
