Google just dropped "Tell Maps"; you can now update business details by simply typing or speaking to Maps instead of jumping through clunky menus and forms.

About a month ago, Google announced Tell Maps, a way for Google Maps contributors to use AI to tell Google Maps more about places. "You can suggest edits conversationally, right from Ask Maps and the Contribute tab," Google said about Tell Maps.

Customer behavior has changed.

Before someone contacts your business, they are likely checking your website, Google Business Profile, reviews, social media, and overall online presence.

They want to know:

Are you real?
Are you credible?
Do you solve their problem?
Can they trust you?

That means your digital presence is no longer “extra.” It is part of the buying decision.

Moxie Creative Solutions helps small businesses improve their branding, website, local SEO, and online visibility so customers can find you and trust you faster.

A small business can look organized online while its digital back room is one giant junk drawer. We talk constantly about building websites, posting content, improving SEO and creating better branding. But why aren’t we talking more about digital asset ownership and management?

Part of the problem is that creating something new is easier to sell. A new website sounds exciting. Organizing passwords, confirming account ownership and documenting access does not. Nobody brags about their beautifully organized password manager.

Who owns your domain?
Where are your passwords stored?
Who has access to your website, Google Business Profile and social accounts? Where can someone find the correct logo, brand files, photos and website backups?

What happens when an employee, freelancer or agency leaves?

I have stepped into projects where nobody knew who controlled an account, the current logo was buried in an old email, or a former vendor still had access years later.

Marketing quickly turns into digital archaeology.

Small businesses need a clear system for ownership, access, storage, backups and account recovery. We spend a lot of time helping businesses create digital assets. We need to spend more time helping them own, protect and manage those assets.

A little Moxie makes a big difference.

Invisible is not a marketing strategy.

If your business is good at what it does, people should be able to find it, understand it, and trust it.

Moxie helps small businesses build a stronger digital presence through clear branding, smart websites, local SEO, and marketing that still sounds human.

Good businesses shouldn’t be invisible.

I found a business recently that caught my attention, so naturally I did what most people do.

I tried to figure out where they were located.

I checked their website.
I checked their social media.
I checked Google.
I even asked AI.

Nothing.

No city. No service area. No clear location.

And it made me wonder: is this on purpose?

Because hiding your location might feel like privacy, but for a local business, it can quietly hurt trust. People want to know if you serve their area, if you are nearby, and if you are a real business they can contact.

You do not need to post your home address if you work from home. But you should make your city, service area, and general location easy to find.

Local visibility is not just about showing up on Google.

It is about giving people enough information to trust you.
