This beautiful sign is more than a display. Itโs a reminder of the mission, compassion, and hope that have guided the pantry from the very beginning. Thank you for allowing Envision to be a part of this vision.

Twelve Baskets' Inspiration Name
A new sign that boldly proclaims our mission and connects us back to the scripture that inspired the name of our pantry was recently installed at the pantry as a finishing touch to the 2024-2025 renovation of our property.
Founding board member, Romona Czuk, and her husband, Phil, who served as a board member for the pantry's first year, came up with the idea to create the sign after hearing a few months ago about the miracle of the loaves and fishes at church in Florida (they're snowbirds!), and then again after returning home to Michigan in April. Reminded of the twelve baskets of bread left over after the crowd of 5,000 were fed also served as a reminder that the pantry did not have its mission statement publicly posted.
One evening while sitting in their living room Romona and Phil got to wondering how many people served by the pantry knew the origin of its name. Romona has been asked frequently how the pantry got its name over the 12 years she has been working in area communities on the pantry's behalf. She and Phil agreed a poster or sign should be placed in a prominent position indoors, and selected Matthew 14: 15-20 for the scripture passage to use on a sign. Romona took the idea to the pantry board and got the OK to proceed!
She got the ball rolling by working with JR Harper at Envision Advertising Design & Video Production LLC., a generous supporter of the pantry, and Margaret von Steinen to turn her vision into a printable graphic. Allegra - Marketing, Print, Mail of Portage, MI handled the printing, and the cost was covered by a community grant Allegra has awarded to the pantry annually. Greg Goss, our facilities manager, mounted the sign! Thank you to everyone who helped Romona and Phil get this important sign up for all to see!
