Who owns your firm's marketing number?
At most firms, no one does. Marketing decisions get made between client calls, by whoever has time that week. Nobody sets the strategy, nobody owns the KPIs, and nobody answers for what the firm signed this quarter.
That is not a budget problem. It is a leadership problem.
An outsourced marketing manager fills it. One person who owns the strategy, manages the budget, reviews performance monthly, improves intake, checks advertising against bar rules, and sits in your partner meetings.
You may call the role an outsourced marketing manager, virtual marketing director, part-time marketing manager, or fractional CMO. The title matters less than the authority.
Ask three questions. Do they set the strategy or just execute it? Do they own the KPIs or just report them? Do they sit at the table where decisions get made?
