My wife's having shoulder surgery today, Sep 2nd, so the shop will be closed. Sorry for any inconvenience

We are back open, sort of. The truck stop has a generator partially powering the building and I brought a UPS up here to run the more sensitive stuff in my shop. But it's hot! There is no AC, no fuel pumps, very poor cell service, and no food. Just electricity and water. I plan on being open until 5pm but we'll see how the day goes

The shop will be closed again on Friday, August 14th.

A bit of an update. I finally made my way to the shop today. There are a lot of electrical poles down everywhere and several of the roads I normally take are still blocked by either downed trees or poles. I've never seen anything like it. The truck stop is still without power. They are trying to get a generator running the entire place but having problems getting that working properly. The power company is saying it could be as late as August 21st before all power is restored in this area. I will attempt to go in again on Monday. Stay safe and avoid driving on the roads in this area if you can.

As promised today's throwback Thursday pic is another radio the same gentleman brought me last week to check out. A President Washington. While the radio isn't really all that rare, the box and matching external speaker is. I wanted one of these really bad when I was a teenager. 😀

It's been awhile since I did a throwback Thursday post. Check out this Cobra 142 GTL I checked out for a customer yesterday. Ever seen the box for one of these before? I never have and thought it was neat. He had another old radio too but that will have to wait until next week 😀
