🏁 RACER HIGHLIGHT: LAYNE O’NEAL #439 🏁

Adrenaline, family time, and an occasional crash in the scoring tent… meet Layne O’Neal! 😂

From Marble Hill, MO, Layne races a Kawasaki KX85 in C Class with the Missouri Hare Scramble Championship Series. He started riding at just 3 years old and has been racing for two years!

What keeps him coming back? The thrill, the fun, and getting to do it alongside his dad and family. He’s traveled five hours to race, but his favorite is Thayer, MO—the track is half motocross, giving him the best of both worlds!

His proudest accomplishment this year is improving on a new bike. Next goal? Committing to those jumps! Before race time, you’ll find him listening to Young Dolph to get in the zone.

His funniest race memory deserves its own highlight: wrecking in the scoring tent in front of everyone. Nothing like having an audience! 😂

Layne’s take on trying your first race:
“It’s harder than you think! But if you’re there to have fun then you can do it!”

And his advice to kids starting out?
“Keep trying even when it’s hard!!”

Outside of racing, Layne loves all sports. A fun fact you might not know: he’s ambidextrous!

He gives a big thank-you to his mom and dad for taking him racing and supporting him, his family for helping him get what he needs, and his moto friends for always offering a hand and advice.

Let’s show #439 some love! Have you raced with Layne? Drop a memory or some encouragement for his next race below! 👇

📸🎨 SO MANY NEW FACES, SO LET ME REINTRODUCE MYSELF!

I’ve noticed quite a few new faces around here lately, so I figured it was time to reintroduce myself and share a little more about the girl behind the camera!

Hey y’all! I’m Britney, the face behind Barber Racing Media! 🤍

If you’ve ever been to an AXC or MXC race, chances are you’ve seen me running around with a camera in my hand, covered in dust, dodging flying mud (maybe even slipping and falling on my back) , or doing just about anything to get that perfect shot!

But there’s a whole lot more to me than just photography, so here’s a little peek into the beautiful chaos I call my life! 😂

📸 THE GIRL BEHIND THE CAMERA

Photography has become such a huge part of who I am. I love capturing the moments people don’t even realize are happening. The proud parents, nervous little racers, first wins, tough losses, muddy smiles, and all the little things in between.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to watch kids grow up through my camera lens. Some of these racers I’ve photographed for years, and seeing their confidence, skills, and personalities grow is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’ve learned that the best pictures aren’t always the ones of someone crossing the finish line first. Sometimes they’re the ones of a dad helping his little one get ready, a mom cheering from the sidelines, friends laughing after a long race, or a kid who gave it everything they had just to finish.

Those are the moments I want people to have forever.

🏁 AUNT LIFE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE LIVES

If there’s one title I love just as much as photographer, it’s being an aunt!

My nephew Liam and the twins are three of the biggest pieces of my heart. Getting to watch them grow up, race, chase their dreams, and experience life is something I’ll never take for granted.

I’m also incredibly grateful that their parents trust me to keep all three of them by myself on Mondays!

Those Mondays are some of my favorite days. They’re loud, busy, sometimes exhausting, and by the end of the day I’m usually wondering how three little humans can possibly have so much energy. 😂

But I live for those days.

The little conversations, the laughs, the adventures, and even the chaos. I know there will come a day when they won’t be little anymore, and I’d give anything to have one of those crazy Mondays back.

And the best part? My aunt title doesn’t stop with the kids I’m related to.

Somewhere along the way, racing gave me a whole bunch of extra nieces and nephews. Kids I cheer for like they’re my own family, kids I’ve watched grow up, and kids I hope always know they have someone in their corner.

And I want every single one of them to know that my support will NEVER stop at the racetrack.

If that means traveling to another state because they want me to be the one behind the camera for their senior pictures, I’ll be there.

If they’re competing in a rodeo, I’ll be cheering from the sidelines.

If I have a free Sunday and there’s an opportunity to show up for one of these kids, that’s exactly where I want to be.

And who knows what other adventures we’ll get ourselves into over the years!

I don’t want to just be someone who took their pictures when they were little. I want to be someone they remember always showing up.

Someone who celebrated their accomplishments, believed in them when things got hard, and made sure they knew they had another person in their corner.

Because the relationships I’ve built through racing mean so much more to me than just what happens between the starting line and the checkered flag.

🏕️ CAMP HAS A VERY SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART

If there’s one thing I look forward to all year long, it’s camp.

For the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to be part of something that means more to me than I could ever put into words. What started as a way to bring kids together to learn, ride dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and have fun has become one of the things I’m most passionate about.

This year alone, we had over 60 campers, and every year we continue to reach more and more kids. Watching them grow as riders, and learn more about god is something special.

But for me, camp has never been just about riding.

It’s about making sure every single kid who comes through those gates knows they matter, they’re loved, and they’ve got someone in their corner.

Not just when they’re winning. Not just when they’re doing everything right. But through the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between.

Last year, my nephew had a freak accident at camp that resulted in an ambulance ride over four hours away for medical care. It was one of those moments that reminds you just how quickly life can change.

And even after everything he went through, that little boy was determined to get back to camp. So we made it happen.

I’ll never forget that.

This summer, Mason and I were able to do something that meant the absolute world to me.

We paid for FIVE kids to attend camp.

I spent the entire year fundraising, working toward making that possible, and making sure those kids had everything they needed.

And getting to watch them experience camp was worth every bit of effort.

We even had a little money left over afterward, and we decided to use it to help make another difference.

Because sometimes all it takes is one person believing in a kid, one opportunity they might not have had otherwise, or one experience that reminds them just how capable they really are.

I don’t know if those kids will remember every lesson they learned, every lap they rode, or every activity we did.

But I hope they remember how they felt.

I hope they remember being encouraged, included, supported, and loved.

And I hope they know that my support doesn’t end when camp is over, either.

If they need someone cheering them on, someone to listen, or someone to remind them that they’re capable of more than they think, I want to be that person.

Because at the end of the day, camp isn’t just about teaching kids how to ride.

It’s about helping them build confidence, friendships, memories, and a sense of belonging that they can carry with them long after they leave.

And if even one kid walks away knowing they’ve got someone in their corner who genuinely cares about them, then every late night, fundraiser, long day, and bit of hard work was worth it.

🤍 SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY, STRANGERS BECAME FAMILY

And if you want to know just how much the people I’ve met through racing mean to me, I’ll tell you about last weekend.

I found myself crying at a wedding.

Not because I’m just an emotional person (although I definitely can be 😂), but because I was standing there watching two people celebrate their love, surrounded by people who were complete strangers to us just a year ago.

A year ago, we didn’t even know these people. Today, I couldn’t imagine our lives without them.

We spent the weekend laughing, celebrating, making memories, and being surrounded by people who have become so much more than just our race friends.

They’re family.

They’re the people who show up when there’s no race to attend. The ones who check in, celebrate life’s biggest moments, and stand beside you through the things that have absolutely nothing to do with motorcycles or four-wheelers.

And standing there at that wedding, it really hit me how special that is.

Racing might be what brought us together, but it’s not what keeps us together.

It’s the friendships, the love, the memories, and knowing that these people will still be there long after the checkered flag waves and everyone heads home.

A year ago, we were strangers. Last weekend, I was crying happy tears at their wedding.

If that doesn’t tell you what this racing family means to me, I don’t know what will.

Because at the end of the day, the greatest thing racing has ever given me isn’t a photograph, a trophy, or a place to spend my weekends.

It’s the people I never would’ve met without it.

🎨 THERE’S ALSO AN ARTIST BEHIND THE CAMERA!

When I’m not behind the camera, there’s a pretty good chance I’ve got a paintbrush in my hand!

I also own Art by Britney B, where I create miniature original ACEO paintings. From whimsical animals and silly little characters to landscapes and whatever random idea pops into my head, my art is a little bit of everything!

And here’s something that still completely blows my mind…

IN JUST A FEW SHORT MONTHS, I’VE SOLD OVER 1,000 PIECES OF MY ARTWORK! 🥹

That’s over 1,000 tiny pieces of my imagination that have found their way into people’s homes and collections! Even to other countries!! I still can’t believe it.

What started as a creative outlet has grown into something I never could’ve imagined, and I still get just as excited about a sale today as I did my very first one.

Photography lets me capture the world as I see it, and painting lets me create the world as I imagine it.

I love getting to do both!

💻 AND YES, I HAVE A FULL-TIME JOB TOO!

Somewhere between editing thousands of race photos, painting tiny masterpieces, babysitting three kids, and spending weekends at the track, I also work full time at a local powersports dealership here in Northwest Arkansas!

And I have to take a minute to brag on my coworkers.

During race season, Saturdays are pretty important to me. They’re spent at tracks, behind my camera, and surrounded by people who have become such a huge part of my life.

I’m incredibly grateful to work with people who understand that and support me being gone on Saturdays during race season.

Their willingness to work around my race weekends and their encouragement mean more to me than they probably realize.

Because of them, I get to spend those weekends doing something I love, capturing memories, supporting these kids, and being present for moments I can never get back.

Having people who support your passions, even when those passions take you away from work on busy Saturdays, is something I don’t take lightly.

They make those weekends even more valuable to me, and I hope they know just how much I appreciate them.

❤️ MY HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART & OUR LITTLE ZOO

I’m also a wife to my husband, Mason, and we’re high school sweethearts!

There’s something pretty special about getting to grow up alongside the person you’re building a future with.

We’ve gone from being high school sweethearts to building a life together filled with racing weekends, family, animals, big dreams, and plenty of unexpected adventures.

And our household definitely isn’t boring!

🐾 Paisley is our beagle and the old lady of the family. I’ve had her since I was in high school, so she’s been by my side through so many different chapters of life. At this point, she’s earned the right to do pretty much whatever she wants!

🐾 Sadie is our 3-year-old bloodhound who is absolutely FULL of sass. She’s got enough personality for the entire household and makes sure there’s never a dull moment.

🦝 And then there’s Bean, our raccoon! Because apparently two dogs weren’t enough, and we needed a little extra chaos in our lives. 😂

Our little family might not be everyone’s definition of normal, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

🤍 WHY I CHOOSE A LIFE THAT’S ALWAYS SO BUSY

I’m not going to pretend balancing everything is easy.

There are days when I’m exhausted. Days when the photos still need editing, paintings need finishing, laundry is piling up, and I feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day.

There are Mondays when I’m chasing three kids around, weekends when I’m up before the sun, and nights when I’m still working long after everyone else has gone to bed.

And sometimes I wonder why I can’t just sit still for five minutes. 😂

But then I remind myself of something.

I’d rather be this busy now and someday look back at a life that was full than look back wishing I’d done more.

One day, the kids will be grown. The little racers I photograph now will be adults with families of their own. Those crazy Mondays with my nephew and the twins will be memories. The muddy weekends, road trips, late nights, and long days will all be stories we tell.

And when Mason and I are older, I want us to look back at the life we’ve built and know that we really lived it.

That we showed up.

That we loved people.

That we took the pictures, made the memories, chased the dreams, and said yes to the adventures.

That I drove those extra hours to take senior pictures. That I spent my free Sunday at a cheering for a kid I’ve watched grow up. That I helped send five kids to camp and got to watch them experience something special.

That we spent weekends celebrating weddings with people who were once strangers and somehow became family.

That I didn’t let being busy become the reason I missed out on the people who mattered most.

Even when we were tired. Even when life was chaotic. Even when it would’ve been easier to stay home.

Because someday I won’t remember how tired I was. I’ll remember how full my life was.

And I think that’s a pretty beautiful thing.

📸 SO WHY AM I SHARING ALL OF THIS?

Because with so many new faces following along, I want you to know there’s so much more behind this page than just someone taking pictures.

I’m a wife, an aunt, an artist, a full-time employee, an animal lover, and a girl who probably has about 15 unfinished projects going at any given moment.

I’m someone who genuinely loves watching other people succeed, especially the kids who have become such a huge part of my life.

I don’t photograph races just because I love motorsports.

I photograph them because I know how much those moments matter.

I know what it’s like to stand on the sidelines cheering for someone you love. I know how quickly kids grow up. And I know that someday, the pictures we take today might be some of the most valuable things we have left from these years.

Whether you’ve supported my photography, purchased a piece of my artwork, donated toward my race photos, shared a post, or simply stopped to say hello at a race, I hope you know how much it means to me.

To those who’ve been here since the beginning, thank you for continuing to support me. And to all the new faces, WELCOME! I’m so glad you’re here! 🤍

So that’s me! A little bit of racing, a little bit of art, a whole lot of family, two dogs, a raccoon, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting!

🏁📸 NOW I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU!

What race, racing series, or motocross track should I bring my camera to next?!

I’m always looking for new places to shoot, new racers to meet, and new memories to capture. Whether it’s a huge race weekend or a little local track, I want to hear about it!

Drop your favorite tracks, races, and events in the comments! Tell me where you’re from, how we met, or where you’d love to see me show up with my camera!

You never know where you might see me next!

Here’s to more muddy weekends, more paint-covered hands, more crazy Mondays, more adventures with the people I love, and a lifetime of memories worth looking back on. 🤍📸🎨🏁
