Job Title: Applications Engineer – Thermal Analysis Instrumentation
Location: Twin Lakes, WI (Greater Chicago/Milwaukee Area)
Salary Range: commiserate with experience and qualifications.
Bonus Structure: Annual performance-based bonus available
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong background in thermal analysis instrumentation to join our team. This role involves hands-on sample analysis, creating application notes, recording demo videos, developing technical marketing materials, and providing technical support to both customers and the sales team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in explaining complex technical information, supporting sales efforts by demonstrating instrument capabilities, and engaging with industry experts through conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sample Analysis and Reporting:
• Perform sample analysis using thermal analysis instruments (DSC, TGA, STA, TMA) to produce high-quality data.
• Analyze and interpret test results, providing detailed and accurate reports to customers.
• Application Development and Documentation:
• Develop application notes that illustrate the unique capabilities and benefits of our instrumentation for various materials and industries.
• Document experimental procedures and best practices for future reference and training purposes.
• Technical Marketing Material Development:
• Create technical marketing content such as white papers, case studies, and product data sheets that highlight instrument performance, key features, and application capabilities.
• Develop educational content, including technical brochures and digital guides, to support the marketing and sales teams in communicating product value to potential customers.
• Record and produce technical demo videos and tutorials that demonstrate the setup, operation, and data analysis techniques for various applications.
• Customer Interaction and Support:
• Collaborate closely with customers to understand their application requirements and ensure proper instrument operation and data interpretation.
• Provide technical consultation and support to customers for optimizing their applications with our thermal analysis instruments.
• Sales Support:
• Assist the sales team by providing expert technical knowledge about instrument features and performance specifications.
• Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective customers, showcasing the value and versatility of our products.
• Industry Engagement:
• Attend technical conferences and industry events to stay updated on new advancements in thermal analysis and to promote the company’s solutions.
• Engage with peers and experts in the field, sharing insights and gathering feedback to enhance product applications and support customer needs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience with thermal analysis techniques and instrumentation (DSC, TGA, STA, TMA).
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data interpretation and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for writing application notes, developing technical marketing content, and creating engaging video content.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with sales, product development, and support teams.
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of industry applications for thermal analysis in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, polymers, or food science.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical support or applications role is a plus.
