Q: What is CUCCAA?

A: CUCCAA is commonly used when referring to California’s construction cost accounting program. You may also see the term CUPCCAA, which stands for the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act.

CUPCCAA provides participating California public agencies with standardized construction cost accounting procedures and alternative bidding methods for qualifying public works projects.
The Act is designed to help public agencies manage public projects more efficiently while maintaining consistent cost accounting practices, competitive bidding requirements, transparency, and accountability.

In short, CUCCAA and CUPCCAA are commonly used when discussing the same California public works framework, with CUPCCAA representing the full name: California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act.
