Slow Wi-Fi at the office? Before you blame your internet provider, check where the router lives. We often find it on the floor of a closet or tucked behind a metal cabinet, and both of those weaken the signal. Moving it higher, more central and out in the open can make a real difference, and it costs nothing if your current cables reach. Too many devices on one network and interference from microwaves are other common causes. Share this with whoever ends up fixing the Wi-Fi in your office. 📶

Anyone who wants to target your business can learn a lot about it without touching your systems.

They usually start with three things:

Exposed credentials. These are email addresses at your domain that turn up in breach data or infostealer malware logs. How recent they are matters. A password taken off a computer last month is a different problem from one scraped in 2012.

Email spoofing. This is whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC actually stop someone sending mail that looks like it came from you. A lot of businesses have some of it set up and assume that means they're protected.

Your website. Its certificate, its security headers and the platform it runs on all tell people something.

We built Kamadeyle Recon so local businesses can see that same view for themselves. Enter your domain and you get results in about a minute. It's free and needs no signup, and nothing is probed. Every finding comes from data that's already public or already for sale.

A clean result is worth knowing too, and the report shows exactly what was searched. If anything needs explaining, you'll be talking to our team here in Tulsa.

Is your IT contract about to renew on its own? Take ten minutes before it does.

Here's what we'd check:

• What the monthly fee covers. Is support unlimited, or do some repairs and upgrades get billed separately? Surprise invoices usually come from the gaps.
• Monitoring. Are your systems watched 24/7, or does someone only notice a problem once your staff call in?
• Patching and backups. Ask when the last backup was checked, not just whether backups exist.
• Reporting. Are you getting reports on system performance, network health and security vulnerabilities? If you've never seen one, ask why.
• Your asset list. Your provider should be able to hand you an inventory of your hardware, software, licenses and warranties, and tell you what's near end of life.
• Reach. When something breaks, how fast can you get a real person?
• The fine print. Read the renewal and cancellation terms while you still have time to decide.

If several of these come back "not sure", that's worth a conversation. If you're thinking about switching, we've put more on what our managed IT covers on our site.

Tulsa Cybersecurity Companies: What to Know Before You Choose One

If you've searched for Tulsa cybersecurity companies, you've probably noticed the results are a mixed bag. You'll find managed IT shops that list security as one service among many, firms that only do security, national companies with a local phone number, and a few one-person operations. Their websites use a lot of the same words, so it's hard to tell them apart.

Moving into a new space comes with a long to-do list. The network is one item that has to be ready when the doors open.

Congratulations to our partner Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital on their new location in Jenks.

We helped get them up and running in the new building. We set up the network and firewall, the wired connections and the Wi-Fi. We also added a backup internet connection so they stay online if the main line drops, set up power management for the network gear and put in security cameras.

The goal was simple: when the team walked in, the IT would already be working and they could focus on their patients. We're glad we could take that part off their plate.

If you're opening a new location, moving or just think your current setup needs a look, send us a message. We're happy to talk it through.

If the only time you hear from your IT person is when something's already broken, you're paying for problems after they've happened.

That's how break-fix works: something goes down, you call, you wait, and you get a bill you weren't planning for.

Managed IT works differently. Here's what ours covers for Tulsa-area businesses:

- 24/7 monitoring, so we can spot and fix problems before they turn into big ones
- Unlimited helpdesk support when your staff need help
- Patching and backups
- Network management and cloud solutions
- Regular reporting on system performance, network health and security vulnerabilities
- Warranty and asset tracking, so you know which equipment is near end-of-life and which licenses you're actually using

It's all covered by a fixed monthly fee, so you can budget for IT instead of being surprised by it.

To see if it's a good fit for your office, take a look at our managed IT services page or send us a message.

A quick one for the practice managers out there. If everyone at the front desk signs in with the same username and password, your records can't show who opened a patient's chart. When someone leaves, the only way to remove their access is to change the password for everybody. Giving each staff member their own login fixes both problems, and most practice software already lets you do it. Share this with anyone who runs a small clinic.

How much does a stranger already know about your business?

Kamadeyle Recon shows you in about a minute. Type in your business domain and it checks three things:

- Which work email addresses show up in breach data or infostealer logs, and how recent each one is
- Whether your email setup actually stops someone pretending to be you
- What your website gives away

It's free, there's no signup, and nothing is probed. Passwords are never retrieved, stored or displayed.

If it comes back clean, that's worth knowing too. If it doesn't, you can ask us about it. We're a Tulsa IT and security team, and we built it.
