Going digital isn’t about scanning your paper forms into a PDF.
And it’s not about filling out the same clipboard on a tablet.

It’s about replacing the entire workflow.

When a contractor makes the switch to a platform like Inspect Point, here’s what actually changes:

In the field ➡️ inspections get completed on pre-built, code-compliant templates. Photos, notes, and signatures are captured on-site—and tied to the right building automatically.

Back at the office ➡️ everything syncs instantly. Reports are reviewed and sent without re-entry. Deficiencies turn into proposals with photos, code references, and pricing in just a few clicks.

Through to revenue ➡️ proposals become work orders. Work orders become invoices. Nothing falls through the cracks.

That’s the difference between “going digital” and actually upgrading how your operation runs.

There was a time when the clipboard was the system.

Every inspection ran through it. Notes, deficiencies, job details—your whole workflow lived on those pages.

And for a long time, it worked.

It kept things moving. Maybe not perfectly, but well enough to get the job done.

But that was then.

Now, inspections don’t stop in the field. They move into reports, service, compliance—everything that happens next.

And somewhere along the way, the clipboard stopped keeping up.

So we’re giving it the send-off it deserves.

Send us a photo of your clipboard and you’ll be entered to win a full workspace upgrade—built for how fire & life safety teams actually work today.

Want a few extra entries? Tag us or book a demo.
And if you become a customer during the campaign, we’ll send you an iPad.

It's had a good run.
Now it's time to let it rest.

When we first launched Inspection Assistant, the goal was simple:

Help you catch mistakes before you leave the job site, meaning fewer callbacks, cleaner reports, and a lot less back-and-forth between the field and the office.

But we know the work doesn't stop there. So we built the next layer into Inspection Assistant.

These updates focus on what happens after the inspection — helping teams take AI feedback and actually use it across review, coaching, and how work moves from field to office.

We broke down all four updates this week on the blog.

You’ve upgraded just about everything over the years.

Pagers turned into smartphones.
Fax machines disappeared.
MapQuest got replaced by GPS.

But somehow the clipboard stuck around.

A lot’s changed in fire & life safety. Things move quicker, expectations are higher, and there’s less room for things to slip through the cracks.

Yet for a lot of teams, inspections are still being done the same way they were decades ago: with pen and paper.

And that’s usually where things start to slip. Inspection notes pile up, reports take longer to turn around, and follow-ups don’t happen as quickly as they should.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

We’re collecting clipboards from contractors across the country and turning them into something better—a chance to upgrade how you work.

Snap a photo of your clipboard and send it in. That’s your entry.
Want better odds? Tag us, book a demo, or take the next step.
And if you become a customer during the campaign, we’ll send you an iPad on us.

Your clipboard’s had a good run.
But it might be time to retire it.

Your clipboard has been through a lot.

Rain, coffee spills, the back of a truck at 6 am, messy notes that only you can read.

There’s a good chance it’s been with you longer than some of your tools.
At this point, it’s probably earned its retirement.

So we’re doing something about it.

We’re collecting clipboards from fire & life safety contractors across the country and turning them into a chance to win a full workspace upgrade.

Here’s how it works:
Snap a photo with your clipboard → send it in → you’re entered.

Want bonus entries?
Post it and tag us. And book a demo for even more.

We’re building a clipboard wall with every submission. Let’s see yours.

That’s what happens when proposals that once took days go out in minutes.

What does AI actually change in fire protection?

It’s not replacing expertise, and it’s not making decisions for you.

Where teams are starting to see real impact is in the work around the work: documentation, reporting, and how information moves from the field to the office.

As we head to the National Fire Sprinkler Association - NFSA Annual Seminar and Business & Leadership Conference in Seattle next week, that’s exactly what our Director of Partnerships, Kim Glaze, will be speaking about.

On April 29 from 8:30–9:30 am, he’ll break down how AI is beginning to show up in real workflows—from inspections and documentation to how teams scale and stay consistent as they grow.

If you’re attending, we’d love for you to be part of the conversation.

We had a great time at CFSA connecting with the fire protection community and spending time with partners like Dyne Fire Protection Labs.

With Ontario’s new requirements top of mind for many teams, it was great to hear how others are approaching inspections, documentation, and compliance—and where things are getting more complex.

If you’re interested in what that looks like in practice, here’s a closer look at how our partnership with Dyne is helping streamline sprinkler testing and improve documentation from field to report:

And for teams working through the new Ontario requirements, this is a helpful breakdown of what’s changed and how it’s impacting inspections and compliance:

We appreciated the conversations, the insights, and the opportunity to connect in person.

Three questions every Ontario alarm contractor should be able to answer right now.

1. Do our alarm inspections follow a standard workflow built for CAN/ULC-S536 and S537, not a generic checklist?
2. Can we pull complete inspection histories (annual + monthly + verifications + deficiencies) for any Ontario building in minutes, not hours?
3. If an AHJ or insurer asks tomorrow, do we have clear proof of correction tied back to each deficiency?

If any of those gave you pause, you've got some catching up to do.

Clipboards, static PDFs, and generic form tools weren't built for S536/S537. Most contractors are finding that out the hard way.

Inspect Point helps alarm contractors:

▪️Guide techs through consistent, digital alarm inspections
▪️Generate ULC-style reports owners and AHJs can actually read
▪️Keep inspections, deficiencies, and work orders in one place

If you're not sure where you stand, DM us "Ontario" and we'll walk through your current process.

Takes 20 minutes and you'll know exactly where your gaps are.

If you've been following along on Ontario's new requirements: how are you handling it so far?

We’re heading to the Canadian Fire Safety Conference & Expo (CFSA) next week in Vaughan, Ontario.

With Ontario’s new requirements now in place, many fire protection teams are working through what these changes mean for inspections, documentation, and compliance.

If you’re attending April 14–16, stop by booth #502 to see how Inspect Point helps you stay aligned with the latest requirements and streamline your inspection workflows.

We’re looking forward to connecting with the Canadian fire protection community.
