I've been working on this mini-doc for about a year now. It's been recorded and re-recorded, put to the side for far too long, and finally polished into what you'll see tonight. I got some prototyping board in, so I threw together a rangemaster in a green/purple iridescent enclosure. I'm wowed by the depth in the colors and sparkle.

I'm not super happy with the tone, though, so I may try swapping the bias resistor for a pot so I can push it a little harder into breakup.

After doing this for years, I'm proud to announce I finally broke a pedal :). This demolished switch is out of my personal Kilroy that I use and abuse almost daily. The fact that it held up for as long as it did while I was kind of actively trying to break it (for stress testing purposes of course) gives me a lot of confidence in the pedals I send out.

That being said, if your WHFX pedal ever breaks, the first 50 in each series come with a lifetime warranty, and all others come with a 1 year warranty from date of purchase. I specifically want to see how they break so I can build them better going forward.

So grab a pedal and get to stomping!

A quick copper taping for my jazzmaster. I tore the whole thing apart with the intention to rebuild the electronics, switching from the traditional layout to a dual volume -> switchable passive treble/bass control which will allow me to cut lows as well as highs and tame the chunky J Mascis JM/P90s, but it turns out the roller k***s are 4MM despite this being an import model 🙄

My main concern at the moment is trying to figure out how much I'll miss using the switch as a master kill. Worst case scenario, that's what the drill gun is there for :)
