They can't all be slam dunks!
A customers laptop wouldn't boot up. It hadn't started for quite some time and it was an abrupt occurance when it shutoff.
After a diagnosis I determined it wasn't the battery or the charging port, that there was a damaged component on the motherboard that would require more extensive repair.
I advised the customer of my findings and he made the decision to not do the repair, due to the age of the laptop and what it would cost to repair.
I say all this to make people aware, sometimes the answer is a new computer. It's human nature to get attached to what we have and not like change, but with the advancement in technology nowadays, you can get a pretty powerful laptop for between $300-500.
Always weigh your options between repair or replacement and whatever you decide, make sure you let RedScott Tech help you along the way!
