Quick heads up! I had fun over the semester break working on Dr. Drone, to make sure it stays up with all the OS updates. It'll take a few more weeks to solidify and release the new features, but thought I'd "leak" the additions: "Piano Roll Entry" will be the new entry default, which includes a full 88 key (scrolling) keyboard to enter your notes. The older "two-octave button based" entry will still be there as an option, but just won't be the default (unless you make it that way in the settings!) ALSO... I almost have this one done! Chord Entry Mode! Once you've put in your notes - i.e. roots, you'll be able to specify a different chord or cluster for each root in 3 different ways: 1) Chord Quality Builder (make it a major triad with a minor 7, a sharp 9 and a #11 please...); 2) Pitch Class Builder (make that root a 0, and give me a beautiful 016 set); and finally (the one I'll be using the most...) 3) Custom Entry Mode (a full keyboard will allow you to add up to 9 notes to your selected root (10 notes total... for now!) This way, you can program in a progression of any kind of verticalities that you'd like... various jazz piano voicings, for example. To deal with the potentially complex chords we'll be having fun with, an easy toggle will be available to switch between Just (Pythagorean) and Equal temperaments. I'm also toying with updating the look of the UI a little to make it look just a little hipper, but want to get the Piano Entry and Chord Entry released first!
Thanks for using the app! Any other bucket list items, feel free to send them, and I'll put them on my task list (Spring Break's just around the corner!) Alright... back to practicing...
