🚨 Disturbance over South Texas is forecast to become our first named storm (Arthur) of the season within the next 24 hours🚨

The National Hurricane Center has issued its first advisory on Potential Storm One. We are monitoring this system as it emerges into the northwest Gulf overnight and is expected to bring more flooding to Southeast Texas through Thursday.

🌧️ Rainfall: 4-8” widespread, with isolated totals up to 12”

⚠️ Flash Flooding: Dangerous, life-threatening flooding possible

💨 Tropical Storm Watch: Sargent, TX to Morgan City, LA

🌊 Coastal Flooding: Storm surge of 2-4 feet possible along parts of the upper Texas and Louisiana coast

The system is expected to move into the Gulf tonight, track near the Upper Texas Coast Wednesday, then make landfall near the Texas/Louisiana border late Wednesday into Thursday.

This will be a flooding event first and foremost. Now is the time to review your flood safety plan and never drive through flooded roadways.
