"My mother was private chef to Orson Welles, famed Hollywood actor, when I was a kid, so I grew up with a master chef at home, as well as my maternal grandmother, from Barcelona, who was the family matriarch and a force in the kitchen, to be sure. Together, we were always cooking, baking, listening to music and dancing around in the kitchen.

During my childhood and early into my 20's, I was a classically trained ballerina, dancing on scholarships at the Boston Ballet...an unfortunate injury ended a promising career. When I was 18 years old, I met world renowned French Michelin star chef Alfred Schilling, with whom I developed a life-long friendship; Alfred has always been instrumental in shaping my passion for finer culinary creations and for teaching me the art of creating something special from very few ingredients. I was fortunate to work at Matt Carter's Zinc Bistro at the Kierland's in Scottsdale as a pastry chef — one of the best times of my life. Eventually, I launched BONATARTE, and that was that.

As a home-based cottage baker, BONATARTE is churning out a lot of tartes, and selling weekly at the Arrowhead Farmer's Market in Glendale, AZ. We keep busy with private events and parties, working with event/party planners, and corporate businesses."
