I canned beans!! 🫘 yay!! My Great Grandmother used to can, quilt, and crochet…she lived to be over 100 years old. I did know her but wasn’t old enough to learn from her. She made the best fudge too! I have learned to do all of these things by reading a book or watching a video. I was so intimidated to learn pressure canning though, but I got an electric canner a few years ago and finally took the deep dive.
It is so cost effective and you know exactly what ingredients you are putting into your food. Giant pluses for me! A 10 lb bag of beans yielded me 16 quarts (one broke). So approx $2 for organic beans per jar or $0.60 for non organic. Such a huge savings.
