I received this beautiful cross stitch piece when I got married 22 years ago from my Mimi before she passed. She didn’t have a chance to finish it, and I was a little intimidated to make something with it…but, I had some of this amazing fabric by and I think it goes wonderfully! I’m going to try and make a pillow so we can enjoy it more 💗.

I had used this piece of paper while swatching the other day and decided to pass my daughter a little love note during school 🖤. We didn’t have much of an viewing in Southern California, but we were still able to catch it! Did you see it?

I canned beans!! 🫘 yay!! My Great Grandmother used to can, quilt, and crochet…she lived to be over 100 years old. I did know her but wasn’t old enough to learn from her. She made the best fudge too! I have learned to do all of these things by reading a book or watching a video. I was so intimidated to learn pressure canning though, but I got an electric canner a few years ago and finally took the deep dive.
It is so cost effective and you know exactly what ingredients you are putting into your food. Giant pluses for me! A 10 lb bag of beans yielded me 16 quarts (one broke). So approx $2 for organic beans per jar or $0.60 for non organic. Such a huge savings.

Hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July! It’s been Christmas in July over here finally wrapping up this quilt I started in November. I’m so excited to gift this one to the kids great grandma who is turning 90 in September. Woo Hoo!! She is the matriarch of our family and I love her so much 🖤.
I quilted this one just using a wavy stitch on my juki machine. It was more challenging than I thought, but I am proud of how I turned out. The backing was pieced and you can see the label I did a few posts back. Yay!! I think this was my fourth quilt completed, and I am loving this craft!!
