✨ Hollywood is changing the game.
A recent Business Insider article I read this week highlighted something many in the industry have been feeling: original films are making a comeback.
Movies like Backrooms and Obsession—built on fresh ideas, passionate creators, and relatively modest budgets—have outperformed some of the industry’s biggest franchise releases.
That’s a powerful reminder that audiences still connect with great storytelling.
The photos in this post are especially meaningful to me.
Years ago, I had the privilege of working alongside these 2 talented creators. One image shows a filmmaker behind the camera in front of an LED wall, bringing a story to life. The other shows a creator at a workstation, composing music and shaping the emotional heartbeat of a film.
Today, they’re out in the world pursuing their own creative journeys, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.
In many ways, I look at them like my own sons. Watching them grow, develop their craft, and follow their passion has been one of the most rewarding parts of this industry.
These photos remind me that behind every camera, every workstation, every LED wall, and every piece of technology is a person with a dream, a vision, and a story to tell.
At VFX Technologies, we believe technology is important—but it’s the people behind it who truly make the difference.
The future of filmmaking won’t be defined solely by bigger budgets or larger studios. It will be shaped by creators willing to take risks, pursue original ideas, and inspire others through their work.
To these two talented creators: I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished, and I’m excited to see what you create, inspire, and bring to the world in the years ahead.
